Asking for the Sale in the Age of the Internet

Why are about 75% of your customers or clients intentionally hiding from you during their Purchase Decision Making process?  Even if you don’t see them, your products and/or services will never be considered, if your potential customers don’t find you in the right place, with the correct message, at the right time asking for their business.

My premise for this month’s blog is that because technology is playing a much greater role in the time-honored tradition of “Asking for the Sale” or "Buy Now" (technically speaking), we must rethink when, where and how we ask for the commitment to become a new customer.

Unless you have plans to live completely off the grid, the Information age is a game-changer for just about every aspect of your life. Even with all the advantages this tidal-wave of technology offers us this has been a year where a few warts have started to rear their ugly head within the global digital ecosystem.

How the good and bad of Technology-based innovations affects you is as unique as your own DNA. I believe that anyone or business that stays on the slide-lines as a spectator or as just a passive user of innovations like Search Engines and their increasing use of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence is setting themselves up for a risky future and/or poor business strategy at best.

If you think about your company’s homepage and other online assets in the terms of Home Value or Manufacturing Capacity, there is probably no more cost-effective dollar for dollar investment that you can make for increasing the value of a business than improving the performance of your Online Marketing, Sales and Customer Experience Ecosystem.

Every one of Google’s 140+ Products and Services now incorporate some level of Machine Learning (aka, Artificial Intelligence) in these Apps we use on a daily basis. There is already considerable proof that establishing a marketing or sales relationship with these A.I. tools in place will advance the sale further and at a faster pace.

We are entering an era where… If your computer is smarter about the Customer than my computer you will find, win and retain your customers at a higher rate than I will.
